You spin me right round...

Tightening up the cassette - to exactly 40NM as manufacturers specifications of course

Only four more days until I leave now! Changed out the rear cassette on Rose today to make sure I can still spin my way up the mountains of France and Italy, particularly as they will be mah-hussive compared to what I am used to and I will be carrying an additional 7ish kgs with me. Took off the 12-25 cassette that came with Rose and replaced it with the 11-32 cassette from Candy - thanks for the loan Candy! That should do the trick when coupled with the compact crankset up front.

Wasn't quite as easy as just switching out the cassette as I was going up to the much larger 32 tooth jobby, so had to also steal the mid-length rear dérailleur off Candy as well to ensure there was enough clearance between the dérailleur and the cassette - Candy must be getting sick of me stripping her of all her parts by now but I hope she doesn't feel like second fiddle, her time will come!

Am unsure if Rose has appreciated the change to the lower gearing, her being a roadie after all and normally in the company of thoroughbred bikes, but I am sure she will appreciate the decrease in effort as we venture up the Alps a little easier.....not easily, just easier.

Also gave Rose a new chain while I was at it so hopefully no issues with that over the next few months. Additionally really good news, Holly didn't even notice any oil and grease spills on the carpet of the "workshop" either so a real good day all round - another day closer but another job done...
